Description:  In the early 20th Century Mohandas Gandhi reminded us that "to forget how to dig the earth and tend the soil is to forget ourselves." This is a personal reminder for each of us to physically engage with the planet on which we live, and with the living substance of the earth. Collectively, it reminds us that our fate is tied up intimately with the fate of the soil beneath our feat. We ignore Gandhi's warning at our peril.
